Radiographic testing film review

Radiographic Testing (RT)

X-ray and gamma-ray imaging reveals hidden internal flaws in welds and components and provides a permanent record.

Radiographic testing (RT) uses penetrating radiation — X-rays or gamma rays — to image the full internal volume of a weld or component. Flaws that cannot be seen from the surface, such as porosity, slag inclusions, lack of fusion, and internal cracks, show up clearly on the radiograph.

RT provides a permanent, reviewable record of every exposure, which makes it a preferred method for code-required weld acceptance on new construction as well as in-service inspection of piping and pressure equipment. Our certified radiographers work to your governing code and acceptance criteria and deliver film with reader sheets ready for review.

Precision NDT & Consulting, LLC performs radiographic testing in the shop or in the field for refineries, petrochemical plants, marine, and oil & gas customers across the Gulf Coast. Our technicians hold certifications including ACCP Level II and ASNT Level III, and inspection reports are typically delivered the next business day.
